Life Education Truck

We have been lucky to have Quentin here at Te Mahia School this week. Quentin has been working with all three classrooms in the Life Education Bus learning more about what self esteem is, how having a strong identity is important and social skills we need to look after our friendships. It is always a pleasure to see Harold as well and the newly refurbished truck is looking rather impressive. Quentin and Harold left on Tuesday afternoon and will be visiting other schools in the Wairoa District.  Safe travels you two!

Week 1

We certainly had a lot of fun on Thursday and Friday as we learnt more about what makes a team successful. Room 2 identified that for a team to be successful you need to…
- Have a strategy or a good plan.
- Help each other.
- Give each other instructions or directions.
- Share ideas and decide on the best one.
- Work hard with the task at hand.
- Use different peoples strengths and talents.
- Don't give up.

On Thursday we made whizz poppers. Our challenge was to work as a team to plan, design and test a combination that would propel our table tennis ball into the air with x1 piece of cardboard, a cylinder, a film canister, water and an alcazelsta tablet.

On Friday our team had to plan, design and fly a free standing flag using x 12 pieces of newspaper, one roll of sellotape, one piece of string and the flag.
